Okay, without any further ado, here are 5 Wedding Photography Questions You Asked Me
What is one thing you think your wedding clients should know about you?
Back in 2012, I picked my dad’s old camera and I discover my passion for photography. I started binge watching photography related videos on Youtube and I couldn’t leave the camera alone for a minute.
In 2016, I’ve moved to The Netherlands to pursue my business degree.
But if I have to be honest, I was scared.
- Scared of moving to a new and unknown country, alone.
- Scared of moving out of my parent’s house and start my own life independently.
- Scared of not having the time to pursue my passion.
But I did it.
In 2017, I’ve made one the scariest decision of my life.
I’ve started my own photography business.
Wedding photography for me has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. The ability to connect with couples and document their love story is what fuels my fire.
I incredibly love what I do and can go for days talking about why I’m so passionate about what I do. But if you’d like to read more, here are 4 Reasons Why I’ve Become a Wedding Photographer.
If you could travel anywhere to photograph a wedding, where would it be?
If you’re anything like me, YOU LOVE TRAVELLING! Although I love photographing wedding in The Netherlands, my top 3 wedding destinations dreams are France, Italy and Greece!
What’s a city you’re dying to shoot in?
This is a follow-back question from the previous one. I would answer is the same way (and order) as the previous question. These are my 3 cities: Paris, Venice and Santorini!
Okay, I gotta be honest, the next 2 questions are not wedding photography related, but more personal.
How many languages do you know? And which ones?
This is definitely one of the most frequent asked questions. Here are some fun facts about me:
I was born in Aruba, raised by a Colombian mother, moved to The Netherlands in 2016, followed International Business and Management studies and studied Portuguese for a semester.
Which means I can speak 5 different languages:
- Papiamento
- Spanish
- English
- Dutch
- Portuguese
There you go! 😜
How do you balance studies with your business?
As previously mentioned, apart from being a wedding photographer, I’m also a business student. For me, having the right mindset has been the biggest reason why I do what I do.
Entrepreneurship is not an easy task. I’m literarily saying no to a nine-to-five job and want to live off of my career. THAT’S SUCH A BIG DEAL!
The real answer is proper planning.
As a student (and honestly, any human being), I also love to go out, have a drink with my friends and travel around the world. However, I know in order to do that, I’d have to prioritize my work and student life. My goal was and will always be to build a business around my life and not a life around my business. I believe planning helps me achieve just that.
