Wedding in Leeuwarden: Ryan and Demy
It was her birthday, 2nd of February. Ryan told Demy that he had to work on that day and probably won’t be able to spend time with her. Demy, of course, was mad and disappointed.
While at work, Demy received a phone call from her mother telling her that she had to go home immediately after she finished working. Demy started to get worried.
When Demy got home, there was a bouquet of roses and a boat ticket waiting for her. Her mom dropped her at Holwerd and she took a boat trip to Ameland. There she was, mad, disappointed, worried and now confused where this boat was taking her. But wait, this gets even better…
When she arrived at Ameland there was a man standing next to a car with her name on it. She politely greeted the man and sat down quietly in the car. Somehow, there was a strange smell of horse. Demy couldn’t be more confused, so she started to ask questions. They arrived at an unknown place, where there was a Frisian Black Horse waiting for her.
After a few minutes, they arrived at a beach. Demy was still confused about what was happening, but she opted to enjoy the moment and stop asking questions. After a few minutes, she saw Ryan, who was also riding a horse. Demy couldn’t believe her eyes and her heart started to beat uncontrollably.
Ryan got off the horse and walked her direction. He grabbed her hands, said a few words and then got down on one knee and asked Demy to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
On 9 April 2017, Ryan and Demy got married at the Jacobijnekerk. They received the blessing from Ryan’s father, who is a pastor at De Deur Christian church in Leeuwarden, and celebrated at Leeuwarden Lounge Restaurant.
Ryan and Demy, I wish you both all the best as you navigate this beautiful journey together. Much love and appreciation.
