Retiro Park Madrid: Jorge and Maria Couple Photo Session
Let me tell you the story of how I met Jorge and Maria at Retiro Park in Madrid. Moving to Madrid was one of the best experiences ever, but one of my favourite things to do was wandering around Retiro Park.
The park is known for its large lake, a popular spot with the city’s residents, who go there to sunbathe or hire rowing boats. But that’s not it – the park is HUGE and with so many things to do!
The best part was that the park was 15 minutes away from my place – I was living my best life!
One day I was walking around the park and saw Jorge and Maria having a chat. There was something about these two that made me approach them and ask if I could take their photo.
(Am I awkward to approach strangers on the street? I hope not!)
They obviously agreed and we had a great time taking photos around the park. I posted them on Instagram and people were obsessed with them.
A few weeks later, we planned ANOTHER photo shoot and had the best of time of our lives taking photos at the Retiro Park in Madrid. Here are some photos we took along the way.
We first started taking some photos at “La Rosaleda”.
Fun fact: This part of the park received the “Award of Garden Excellence” back in 2006 and there are more than 20,000 flowers in the garden.
Next, we went to the “Bosque Del Recuerdo”, also known as “Bosque de los Ausentes”, is a monument built as a tribute to the 191 victims of the attacks of March 2004 in Madrid.
Lastly, we wrapped the photoshoot at the “Jacinto Benavente Statue”, which is this beautiful garden award-winning Spanish dramatists of the 20th century.
