Couple Session in Utrecht: Roan and Kiana
They “officially” met in High School. Kiana’s gorgeous eyes caught Roan’s attention immediately. This is Roan and Kiana. Roan insists that they’ve met before high school but Kiana says “she doesn’t remember anything”.
Okay, let me start by saying that this is the second time that I’ve shot this couple. I could not be more amazed by how much love they have for each other. From the moment I met them back in 2015, I was one of their fans. (Does that make me creepy? I hope not).
Roan contacted me a month before this photo shoot. He told me he wanted to surprise Kiana for their anniversary because he knows how much Kiana adores taking pictures.
So, we started planning.
I suggested to Roan we should make it a themed photoshoot! He happily agreed. He told me his plan and we started putting everything together.

I was hiding behind a big tree so I could take pictures of her reaction. This moment? P.r.i.c.e.l.e.s.s.
I had to sit on that thing (where Kiana is sitting) with my bag + all the props. (Sometimes I wonder if I should upgrade my insurance…)
Roan just achieved his Bachelor as a Gym Teacher. His hobbies and passion have always been in sports. It was a rough transition moving to The Netherlands since he had been living on an island his whole life. However, by having Kiana by his side, he doesn’t really need anything else.
This is Kiana. She’s a fifth-year medical student. She always wanted to be a doctor and be able to help a lot of people. She is not really sure about her specialization just yet. However, in the near future, she will return to Aruba and hopefully make a difference in the health care system.
After 3 months of talking, A.K.A. formal way of saying “flirting”, they started dating and from there on they’ve become inseparable.
I always ask my clients what is the one thing you love about your significant other. And I always love their responses. Roan told me the following:
“I love that after all this time, she can still make me laugh. It still amazes me how beautiful she is.”
Kiana admires how devoted Roan is. She says that she can count on him no matter what
And that? That is everything, my friends.
Roan and Kiana, thanks a lot for making me letting me be a part of your lives. I wish you both a lifelong journey of love.
