It’s the biggest debate you’ve encountered in this whole wedding planning process.

Should you do a first look on your wedding day or should you keep it traditional with him seeing you for the first time as you walk down the aisle?

You know for certain that you’d love those gorgeous images as you enjoy an intimate moment with him. But there’s just something so magical to you in the groom’s face as his bride is walking down the aisle, and you want it all on photos!

Eeek… both sides have such great points!!!

Before you decide, here are some pros and cons of having a first look or a traditional wedding… and of course, with photos included.

First Look

The first look is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time on the wedding day before the ceremony. I always encourage my brides to do this because it gives you the opportunity for a private moment together before the whole wedding day flies by and it gives more room for couple photos so you don’t have to worry about taking those right after the ceremony.

Pro: Intimate moment together, more time for couple photos and more time to enjoy with family and friends after the ceremony.

Con: Your guests will not be part of this moment.

Traditional

On the other hand, some brides prefer going to the quite and magical traditional route. The moment is truly beautiful as the doors open and the bride enters the room walking down the aisle. This moment between you and your partner is always beautiful when it’s seen by family and friends.

Pro: Share the moment with your guests.

Con: You will have to leave your guests for a while to go take some couple photos after the ceremony.
